She gratefully found her dedication by working as a channel in form of painting personal "soul"-pictures, which have an effect of blessing and also giving people answers to their individual questions by connecting our highest conciousness.

Section two will focus on

  • interpersonal communication (communication with others) and how, based on one's personal biography and through the psychological phenomenon of cross-generational transmission, individuals can be affected by emotional contents, guilt feelings or fears which originated in previous generations, increasing the risk of projecting them onto others.

Section three will deal with
  • intercultural communication, when intra-personal biases coincide with culture-specific perceptions affecting communication with others, sometimes resulting in apparent "culture clash"-situations,

  • experiencing the increasingly acknowledged perception that deep human emotions involve many universal elements in spite of cultural differences, particularly when communication happens on the heart level,

  • looking at ways in which this personal experience can contribute to a more peaceful approach to conflict transformation in inter-culturally difficult situations.

  • Practical examples from a variety of intercultural communication contexts will be combined with self-exploratory exercises, guided visualizations and the teaching of cognitive concepts gleaned from various schools of neuropsychology, psychotherapy, transpersonal psychology and intercultural communication.

The workshop is highly participatory and experiential, and people are invited to apply the presented concepts to situations they have personally experienced and to share and discuss them in the group.

Participation in this workshop is optional and an openness to personally experience the effects of "emotionally intelligent", heart-to-heart communication within oneself and with others is a prerequisite!

Workshop Content-Outline over two weekends

In section one participants will

  • be introduced to a newly developed model applying the concept of "emotional intelligence"

  • experience intra-personal (internal) communication and awareness raising, learn how the head and the heart can better cooperate and how new pathways can be formed in the brain

  • explore how, based on one's personal biography and through the psychological phenomenon of cross-generational transmission, individuals can be affected by emotional contents, guilt feelings or fears which originated in previous generations, increasing the risk of projecting them onto others
This includes exploring the deeper, often unconscious motives for choosing to become a journalist and how theses motives can severely influence the choice of situations to report on, their interpretation by the journalist and the way of reporting on them.

In section two participants will
  • raise their awareness as to the degree to which their way of reporting can impact on the outcome of a reported (conflict-) situation, and how, as a result, can directly influence or change the course of a reported conflict in process

  • explore the importance of conflict analysis tools in the assessment and the reporting of a situation

  • look at their personal responsibility regarding the impact of their reporting on situations and explore how this can be reconciled with their answerability to their employers

  • look at ways in which their reporting can, through their own more "emotionally intelligent" approach, contribute to a more peace-enabling, rather than a "CNN-effecting" impact of their reporting (and what this means).

In section three participants will
  • explore tools for the prevention of becoming traumatised as a journalist (through developing an "intelligent heart") and for the way trauma can be processed as part of an acknowledged "duty of care" to journalists.
Self-exploratory exercises and guided visualizations will be combined with the teaching of cognitive concepts gleaned from various schools of psychotherapy, psychotraumatology, transpersonal psychology and conflict-/ impact analysis.

The workshop is highly experiential and can be emotionally intense through the naturally surfacing contents for each participant. The guidelines for an emotionally safe environment will therefore apply in the same way as they would in a therapeutic context.

People are invited to apply the presented concepts to situations they have personally experienced and to share and discuss them in the group.

Participation in this workshop is restricted to a maximum of 12 participants and a genuine interest to personally explore operating from an "intelligent heart" is a prerequisite!
